I grew up in Sonoma County. As far back as I can remember, I was inspired by the nature, the trees, the vineyards, the farms and the ocean here. I believe I live in a chosen spot for artists.
Painting has always been my passion. I still remember the thrill of winning the American Legion Poppy Poster contest while a 4th grader at Proctor Terrace Elementary School.
I paint to capture and express my feeling for the area. How thrilled and honored I am when a visitor here takes one of my paintings home as a remembrance of this beautiful area or a local art lover selects one for an honored spot in their life.
I have taken many art classes at Santa Rosa Junior College. I have also studied with master painters Judy Butler, Richard McDaniel, Joan Hoffmann, Michael Coy, Thomas Soltesz, Paul Kratter, Katrina Small, Jeanette LeGrue, Brent Jensen and Phil Starke, to name a few.
I am a member of Artists’ Round Table, Art Workshop of Western Sonoma County and Sebastopol Art Center. I often paint plein air with Monday Morning Sonoma painters.
